I made some custom icon themes with Papirus Folder Colors.
When I made them I let the app put them in /usr/share/icons.
I haven't noticed any weird icons since I have been doing this when the app was released a few months ago.
Today I used the Papirus Folder Colors app to move the custom icon themes to my ~/.local/share/icons folder. I didn't notice anything unusual at first. All the folder icons worked.
I ran Timeshift and noticed the toolbar icons were different.
I don't know what theme it was or how to tell what icons an app with admin priviledges is actually using.
I changed back to the stock Papirus theme and the Timeshift toolbar icons returned to normal.
I moved my custom icon themes back to /usr/share/icons and the Timeshift toolbar icons stayed the same when the custom theme was selected.
I don't know if this is normal or if something is broken.
I have seen something similar a few years ago when I tried to install mouse cursors in the home folder.
Does an app run as root use themes in your home folder or are they only able to use systemwide themes in /usr?
