Software / Configuration • Evolution Email Client and OAuth/2

Hi,
I am in the process of comparing other email clients with Thunderbird. I have ruled out Claws Mail but am quite impressed with Evolution bar one irritation. I cannot find a way of setting up OAuth/2 authentication - I have installed the version in the MX package installer in 'Email' on the 'Popular Applications' tab. This is version 3.46.4-2 but I note there is a version 3.52.2 under the Flatpaks tab.

Investigating online suggests there is a simple remedy and that when setting up the account manually it is possible to select 'OAuth/2' in the authentication dropdown menu that defaults to 'password'. However 'OAuth/2' is not listed in the dropdown menu. My Gmail and AOL accounts use this method so it is important for me that it is recognised by the client.

I haven't investigated the Flatpak version of Evolution as yet because my other email accounts are working well in the current version and I still have Thunderbird but I wonder if the Flatpak version, which appears to be a later version, does list 'OAuth/2' as an authentication option. Perhaps there is a way of editing Evolution system files so OAuth/2 is recognised - any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
