it fixed part of problem, but not all the problem. what the test repo version fixes is the shutdown/reboot menu in lightdm. the issue discussed here also affects the menu in Xfce (and presumably other DEs utilizing polkit for those functions).It's an issue with lightdm 1.26
@dolphin_oracle and @Stevo fixed it on the mx23 sysvinit respin by adding lightdm 1.32 from the test repo as per this post

trust me, I can easily duplicate problem on the sysVinit-only respins. If I try real hard, I can do it on systemd as well, which makes me think some kind of race condition (timing). but it only shows up for me with very fast logouts. If I boot up and run for a while (even just 1 minute), no issues at all.
