1)Does the instance of MX on the other partition use the same kernel?
2) You have formatted sda and sdb as MBR in a UEFI machine. When UEFI became the standard, 'legacy' was redefined to mean a simulator within UEFI that would allow a user to roll back to Win 7 because win 8 and 8.1 were so awful. It's not meant to be used for a legacy install as defined by Linux. When a user does perform an MBR install in this environment, everything seems fine at first but anomalies start to crop up over time.
3) Your bios was updated in Nov 2019. Were your initial MX installs done before or after that date?
4) is this a dual boot? If so, what is the other OS?
