MX XFCE 23.3
I have seen to try not to revive old posts.
Here are maybe a couple things MX Team can take a look into to if interested.
In the past I mentioned that I had issues with the provided MX splash screen at boot / shutdown where they were not covering up the text in the background they are supposed to hide.
I thought it might have been something else but it turns out it might be some of the splash animation screens themselves that do not load quick enough to achieve this?
In the past I believe I was using the default one that was provided by MX I think it was one of the "linen” with purple progress bar.
After switching to the “spinner” one I noticed that this one works better to cover boot / shutdown text. Not perfect all the time but way better then before.
Maybe someone could look and see if there are any issues with any of the splash screens and how fast they load up? As one of the main purposes of using a splash screen is to cover up the visibility of unwanted boot / shutdown text. Cannot say if there really are any issues though, could just be my machine, no other users at the time mentioned they experienced anything like this.
Something else I noticed was splash preview button.
I thought I found more than one but for now I will just mention the one I know of.
Warning:
Be aware that if you try this you will probably have to restart your computer so do not have anything important running.
If you select the splash screen called “tribar” and click on the preview button, you will see a little white square in your left bottom of screen and then it will go solid black and then never comes out of the preview.
The screen remains black and you have to hold down your power button or hit your restart button if you have one. If anyone is interested could look into this as well.
