...
When updating, sometimes the update is interrupted and one get the message to
choose between different options.
Regularely there is an default option, the other options often are something cryptic (for normal user)
up to kind of "examine the system with cli"
For normal users this may be a little shocking experience, i guess in most cases they are
unable to cope, so they are choosing "default" with maybe a bad feeling.
I consider this kind of unnecessary, easy to resolve and maybe one kind of factors that hampers users using Linux.
So maybe default should be the default in any case by default-setup of the system ...
Code:
What would you like to do about it ? Your options are: Y or I : install the package maintainer's version N or O : keep your currently-installed version D : show the differences between the versions Z : start a shell to examine the situation The default action is to keep your current version.... (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ?
These selection questions are completely normal under Linux, it has always been that way.
Those who switch to Windows often demand that Linux adapt more closely to Windows. I think that's an outrage. If Windows is this beautifully simple, then stick with Windows. I don't want Winux.
