Previously I had claimed here that Core2Duo E8400 integrated is capped at no higher than MX21.3 after seeing VLC 3.18 playback of h264 video spike the CPU to 80% while h265 hits 95% average. Recently I live tested updated snapshots of 23.2 and 23.3 on the 21.3 machine and for the same playback both surprised me with h264 at 25% and h265 at 50% respectively on Conky's CPU.
Ye old desktop is now upped to 23.3. My other purpose was to recheck my prior observation about 21 and 23 on machines with integrated graphics connected VGA to VGA either not displaying on an LCD monitor or outputs only at lowered resolution. I've experienced this both on 22" full HD screens and twice on 17" 1280x1024. Somehow on two Esprimo Core2Duos I get a full display, maybe it's because the system is older, graphics does not come from processor but the mobo, etc. It's not an issue with DVI and HDMI (integrated) and I don't recall this happening on 19 or older MX. Two years back I had to resort to discrete cards on similar NEC and LG units that were also VGA-only but fortunately had old PCI Express slots.
