MX Help • What does gvfsd do for me?

Hi

I've installed MX Linux on an old laptop computer, on which I want to conserve every byte of memory for applications. I see that in the stock installation, there are seven processes running with 'gvfs' in their names. That's not as many as my Fedora/Gnome system, which as fifteen such process; still, it seems a lot if I don't need them.

What do I lose if I just disable or uninstall all this gvfs stuff? I did this on a VM install of MX and it didn't seem to break anything that I use. Of course, there are things I can't test on a VM, that I need to work on a real computer.

BR, Lars.
