MX Respins • Re: Nvidia Driver Recovery

It's a laptop with the 980M GPU. As for the update that broke things, I can't shed any light on that. The day of the update, the little update notification icon lit up, I did the update, and didn't think any more about it. I didn't reboot that day, just carried on with stuff. It wasn't until I got up the next morning that things went wrong.

As you can see, there are two entries mentioning nvidia:
- nvidia-driver:amd64 (535.216.03-1~mx23ahs)
- nvidia-kernel-dkms:amd64 (535.216.03-1~mx23ahs)

After reverting to the open source drivers and then reinstalling the propriety ones, the version is the same as mentioned in these log entries.
Does that shed any light? Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I'm still getting used to Linux again after a long absence.
