Dear forum,
I have k3b version 22.12.3-1 installed and can well copy an encrypted Video DVD to my harddisk, but only as a full ISO image and NOT as individual *.VOB files ("ripping"). I was hoping / thinking that this would be possible through the "Rip Video DVD" menu option in k3b and also according to its help text saying "...and ripping Audio CDs, Video CDs, and Video DVDs." But when I call the said function, k3b warns me that it will need to use "transcode", and indeed fails later on with an error message that transcode isn't installed (which is true). Now transcode - if it's at all needed by k3b - is not available anywhere in the MX linux (or Debian bookworm) sources and is even said to be dead since long time. It's also not part of other packages such as handbrake, AFAIK.
Question: while I (probably) can extract the *.VOB files from the ISO image in a second step, is there a way to do all together in a single step with k3b? If not, which other program would you recommend (should have a GUI, please).
Best,
T.
