Regardless of whether you decide to dual boot or not, there are things you need to do to prepare the laptop for MX:
-- You should access your Microsoft account and retrieve the BitLocker encryption key
-- you need to disable Fast Start UP and Bitlocker from within Windows 11 --> MX will not install if Secure Boot is active
-- if dual booting, you need to use Win 11's own disk management tools to shrink the partition and create the space for MX
-- you need to disable Secure Boot in the bios and while in the bios you should change the SATA mode from RAID to ACHI --> you will need the BitLocker key if the bios balks
at disabling Secure Boot
-- suggest that you uninstall One Drive and disable Co Pilot while in Windows.
Thank you for the info. I have previously dual booted with every version of windows except for 11. It seems to me that microsoft have put every barrier in the way to stop linux being installed. I did run my 23 snapshot on the Dell and it all seemed to run OK.
