In case anyone is interested I ordered a TUXEDO desktop PC. Its specification (manufacturer's blurb) is as follows.
Based on my research I couldn't get better value for money for the given specification if I had wanted to buy a new laptop and anyway a desktop PC is fine for my needs.
There are several matters that need to be discussed, but that would be a topic for another thread.
